The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) achieved sales of eleven billion dollars in 2021, estimated at one billion euros in German-speaking countries. It is the highest revenue since the top strategy consultancy was founded, number two behind McKinsey. “We like to show transparently what makes us, the group, what we are,” says Carolin Eistert, partner and head of recruiting at the company. “And we have more applicants than ever before.”

BCG consultants are considered to be particularly diverse and handpicked. But turnover in the industry is high. The company hired around 1,000 new employees in 2022, two-thirds of them consultants. And we will continue to grow strongly. But how do you get in and how do you climb up? The Handelsblatt spoke to Eistert and a former employee about this.
