Frankfurt Two penthouses at a top price of eleven million euros each have been sold in Hamburg’s HafenCity in the past few months. The new owners will not be able to move in until mid-2023 at the earliest. Only then will the residential tower called The Crown, on the 15th and 16th floors of which the two apartments are located, will be finished.
This means that the most expensive property sold in 2021, a long way from the Bavarian capital, which is normally considered by far the most expensive city for property buyers.
The chances are good that the penthouses on the banks of the Elbe will be able to defend their title as the most expensive apartments: “I do not see that comparably expensive new construction projects will come onto the market in the next few months,” says real estate agent Björn Dahler from Dahler & Company, who runs the has marketed both apartments, in an interview with the Handelsblatt. “But of course you never know when a property owner might want to sell his property.”
