What Will the Dollar Rate and Interest Become? British Bank Announces Its Forecast!
Barclays, a UK-based banking institution, announced its dollar exchange rate and interest rate forecasts for our country. Barclays, one of the country’s largest banks, expects the dollar exchange rate in Turkey to be 29 TL at the end of the year. Experts made predictions for three different periods for 2024:
- March 2024: 32 TL
- June 2024: 35 TL
- September 2024: 39 TL
Interest Rates Will Continue to Increase!
Following the dollar forecast, Barclays analysts also made predictions about how much the Central Bank, CBRT, will raise interest rates. According to experts, the CBRT interest rate at the end of the year will be 35%. This figure is expected to reach 40% in 2024.
Stating that the new economic management wants to get rid of the current account deficit, Barclays thinks that the exchange rate will be allowed to rise at least as much as the inflation rate. In the investment note, attention was drawn to the risks of a further rise in the dollar exchange rate.
