As a result of the studies, Istanbul residents can now use the internet without interruption in the subway. Istanbul residents started to receive internet service in the subways belonging to IMM. The first test was successfully carried out on the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line. Metro lines, which have been closed to communication for a long time, have been reopened to the internet. Istanbulites using this line will be able to continue to access the internet during the journey. Efforts are underway to provide free internet service in other metro lines.
Our 2 million citizens who travel on the subways every day will be able to enjoy the internet. All passengers will also be able to make voice calls with their smartphones from the free WiFi service of IMM.
The project will also make a significant communicative and economic contribution to the idle capacities of GSM companies and other private institutions investing in metros. Internet infrastructure in subways, especially in emergencies, earthquakes, etc. It is critical for transportation to citizens in other disaster situations.
