We Talked to the Person Who Made the GTA Turk City Mod!

What were the periodic difficulties you experienced while making the mod? Have you experienced situations such as not having internet at home or not having sufficient computer hardware? Does it have a story? At what age did you do it?

GTA Turk City mod 19 years old While I was preparing for the university exam, I did it 2 months before the exam. The construction process took about 1 month. It may seem interesting, but while making the mod I didn’t even have a computer of my own.

I’m constantly stuck I developed it in an internet cafe. 🙂 Because the cafe owner liked me, he allowed me to sit for free, provided computers were available. Actually, the reason I made the mod was to kind of thank him.

Where and how did you install the game? What are your interesting memories there?

The game patch was very popular in Trabzon and Queues began to form on installed computers. Then, I announced it on the Hardware News forum so that everyone could benefit from it. If I remember correctly, it was a trending topic for a while.

The mod took about 85 MB. In that case RapidShare The site allowed a maximum of 25 MB and you had to download it from 4 different links and open it together. But thanks to a friend, he had a premium version and we were able to share with a single link. I was sending files via MSN Messenger to those who could not download. At that time, sending 85 MB took all night long. 🙂

What do you do right now? While you were such a talented game developer at the time, did you continue in this field or did you switch to a different field? If it is a different area, why?

After making the mod, I got into the Food Engineering department. At the internet cafe where we hung out again because I was studying in Erzurum I modded GTA Erzurum But I didn’t upload it to the internet, I was just installing it on a computer in that cafe and developing it.

One night they formatted all the computers. Everything just disappeared. 🙂 I worked in the Turkish translation teams for NFS, GTA Kabus69 and a few games. When these things did not work as well as GTA Turk, I stopped making mods completely and focused on my career. Later, he completed his master’s degree and doctorate degree, and now he is studying at a state university. I work as a lecturer.

They offered me a job to join the production team of the next play, but my mother did not send it. 🙂 Jokes aside Everyone thinks that I am making a game like GTA, but what I do is compile mod packs according to my taste.

Of course, there were local and foreign modders who were better than me. I wish I could improve myself at that time too. Can we make a GTA game set in our country? I didn’t think so. However, for reasons known to everyone, I had to give up this ambition in a short time.

At that time, we were constantly buying and playing things like GTA Wolves Valley from places that sold CDs. There were also GTA Superman, GTA Dragon Ball Z and GTA Iron-Man modes for San Andreas. Do you have a hand in these as well, especially in the Valley of the Wolves mode?

Both yes and no. Because before I made the mod, such things were thought to be impossible. After I showed that it could be done, prejudice was broken and Turkish modes quickly became widespread.

To friends who do I may have contributed in this way, Other than that, I did not contribute to the patches mentioned. I was also very helpful to those who contacted me via MSN Messenger back then. Some of them did very good work.

How did you do? In other words, in which programming language to mod the game, edit etc. did you use?

My story is very interesting. While we were hanging out at the internet cafe, the owner of the cafe said, “Let’s format all the computers and install games at night; can you help?” he said. So I accepted. While installing GTA Vice City on each computer via CD, while going through the installed files, I probably accidentally deleted the texture file of the main character of the game by sleight of hand.

When I entered the game, I saw that the character was completely white. Then lightning struck in my brain. Immediately go to another computer and download the same file with paint I opened it and drew a black line. When I entered the game again, I saw that certain parts of the character were painted black. I really liked being able to make changes like this. Then came the rest.

Just free time to do and It takes imagination. Everything related to modding is available as “tools” on mod sites. I even put these tools in the patch file so that everyone can use them.

Are you planning to make a mod for GTA 6?

No I do not think. Because I stopped making mods 18 years ago. With the rush of life, unfortunately there is no free time for such hobbies. But if a good team makes a mod for GTA 6, I can be their brother. Additionally, the distributor company does not offer as many opportunities for mod making as before.

As I mentioned before, modding kept the player base alive by constantly updating the games until the new game was released. Even though there are serious mods coming out with GTA Online today because they have achieved this. They take it down by copyrighting it. He tried so hard to say that it was taken off the air or a lawsuit was filed, etc. It would be sad to see.

Did you earn financial income?

I had no financial income. As everyone knows, these are hobby jobs. Even though nearly 20 years have passed, people keep saying to me, “We had a good childhood, thanks to you, the hero of our childhood.” Their messages are more valuable to me than material things. I also had the opportunity to meet very valuable people in the industry. I can say that these are my most valuable achievements.
