new York Warren Buffett is fed up with virtual meetings. The head of the conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway wants to hold his annual general meeting again this year at the group’s headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska – as before the pandemic. Berkshire announced this on Tuesday.
For the past two years, the event has only been broadcast online. But the star investor lacks the exchange with his shareholders and managers.

Before the pandemic, tens of thousands of shareholders traveled to Omaha from around the world to see Buffett, 91, and his vice chairman, Charlie Munger, 98, live. The multi-day event, which always takes place on the first weekend in May, is nicknamed “Woodstock for capitalists”.

Buffett also used the event to exchange ideas with the conglomerate’s most important managers, most of whom work scattered across the United States. The city of Omaha also benefits from the event. Large hotels in the city center were quickly booked up on Tuesday.

The group left information on the obligation to test and wear masks open. Buffett releases his well-publicized “Letter to Shareholders” on Wednesday and plans to provide more details later.
