Frankfort, New York Investors in the US are running out of fear of a significant interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. Monday’s trading was the weakest since June. The Dow Jones index of standard values lost 643 points. It lost a total of 1.9 percent to 33,064 points.
The broader S&P 500 fell 2.1 percent to 4138 points. The Nasdaq technology exchange index fell almost 2.6 percent to 12,382 points. In Frankfurt, the Dax was 2.3 percent weaker at 13,230 points.
In order to get inflation under control again, the Fed has recently raised interest rates and further rate hikes are expected. Investors now fear that this will weaken the global economy and possibly trigger a recession.
