Unable to Access Two Websites with FTX Connection!

Cryptocurrency Alameda Research, a trading firm founded by FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, has put its website in ‘private mode’.

The Squarespace-hosted website was updated on November 9 to be viewable only by internal team members, without any public announcement.

Websites of FTX Investment Companies Disabled

SBF owned approximately 90% of the company as of 2021, although it is currently unknown what its current stake in the business is. Alameda Research is led by CEO Caroline Ellison.

When accessing Alameda Research’s website, users are greeted with such a screen that the site has been switched to private mode.

Also, the FTX Ventures website is unreachable because the DNS settings appear to have been updated to stop the site from loading. The error message says “This site cannot be reached” because the DNS address could not be found.

This error occurs when a website’s DNS settings are incorrectly configured to point to the wrong server. In this example, however, this does not appear to be the source of the problem, given the special status of the Alameda website.

A cached version of the Alameda website is still available through WayBackMachine and includes the core team of CEO Caroline Ellison and CTO Nate Parke, as well as several investors and advisors, including former Co-CEO Sam Trabucco.

Ellison’s last statement on Twitter regarding Alameda’s balance sheet was prior to the Binance acquisition announcement. The CEO said the company has “more than $10 billion in assets” and has “paid off most of its loans so far.”

These tweets paint a different picture from the chart that emerged for FTX over the next 24 hours. Interestingly, SBF deleted the “FTX in good standing” tweets it posted around the same time as Ellison’s.
