TSMC accelerates work for 2nm technology

The first report on 2nm semiconductors to be produced by TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) has been published. According to the leaked information, the company will launch the first 2nm technology in 2025.

TSMC is allegedly planning a new 2-nanometer node called N2P, which will go into production the year after the N2. TSMC has yet to approve a new process called N2P. However, the company came up with similar naming for existing 3nm semiconductor technologies.

According to the leaked information, TSMC will complete the R&D process at its Hsinchu facility in Baoshan. Hsinchu is known as the first facility where TSMC conducts its studies for advanced technology.

Chinese Biren Teknoloji, which was established to rival NVIDIA and AMD in the field of graphics cards, threw in the towel after the embargoes.

While TSMC has confirmed a high-performance variant of the N3, dubbed the N3P, the factory has yet to reveal any details for the N2 compute node. Supply chain sources suggest that N2P will use BSPD to improve performance.

The second process in the manufacture of transistors is called BSPD. In the BSPD process, it creates power efficiency as the current is delivered to the chip with lower resistance and much more convenient.

Morgan Stanley announced that TSMC’s revenue will fall between 5 percent and 9 percent in the second quarter. The bank’s latest report indicated that the decline, which was initially expected to be 4 percent on a quarterly basis, will increase.
