Berlin The wind power industry has been calling for it for a long time, the Greens have included the point in their immediate climate protection program, and the result paper of the explorations by the SPD, Greens and FDP also includes the demand: In future, two percent of Germany’s land area should be reserved for wind power use.
But the implementation of the two percent target is likely to be difficult. The goal is not easy to implement, much more demanding legislative changes are required, warns Martin Burgi, holder of the chair for public law, environmental and social law at Munich’s Ludwig Maximilians University. “One must not indulge in the illusion that the corresponding area designation can be decided with the stroke of a pen,” Burgi told the Handelsblatt.
