Berlin During the election campaign, Christian Lindner had repeatedly emphasized that he lacked the imagination for a traffic light alliance. Only on one point did the FDP chairman identify an overlap between the SPD, the Greens and the Liberals four days before the election evening.
There is basically only the legalization of cannabis in the FDP program, which would be easier for his party to enforce in a traffic light coalition than with the Union, said Lindner in an interview. Two and a half weeks after the election and three exploratory rounds later, not only a traffic light coalition, but also the legalization of cannabis actually seems more likely.
