According to a press release, Saga phones sold in the US under the deal will receive a free 30-day subscription to Helium Mobile. Saga phones are Solana’s flagship Android device, tightly integrated with the Solana blockchain.

Helium Network is a decentralized network of wireless access points aimed at providing an alternative to wired internet or mobile data service. Services cryptocurrency supported by its units; People who join the network get rewards for it.

Helium promotes 5G network development by offering MOBILE tokens to users deploying 5G hotspots. This is similar to the company’s model of IoT crypto mining; here users will earn HNT tokens for running hotspots.

Nova Labs ran into difficulties trying to set up two simultaneous networks for “internet of things” connectivity and mobile coverage.

The mobile-focused service, Helium Mobile, isn’t expected to launch until the first quarter of 2023, and the company recently signed a five-year deal with GSM giant T-Mobile to close the anticipated dead spots.

Boris Renski, General Manager of Nova Labs Wireless, said:

“As we prepare to launch the world’s first crypto operator, our partnership will help deliver low-cost, reliable and decentralized 5G coverage to Saga users in the US.”
