These six risks are lurking for homebuyers this year

Most Germans still dream of owning their own property. But before making the purchase, several risks should be weighed up.

Frankfurt It came out of the blue – and must have spoiled the mood of many a homeowner. At the beginning of this week, the new federal government stopped state subsidies for more energy efficiency in new buildings completely for the time being in view of a flood of applications and the threat of additional costs running into billions.

Specifically, no new applications for funding for the programs of the state development bank KfW in the federal funding for efficient buildings can be submitted for the time being. Even if the federal government now wants to present solutions especially for private households: KfW’s announcement came as a shock to many (potential) property buyers.

It wasn’t the only bad news they’ve had to deal with recently, alongside already rising prices. So what should buyers look out for now? Below is a brief overview of six reasons why the real estate market is likely to become more difficult for newcomers in the coming years.
