The founder of the Future Today Institute presented her key predictions at the Festival South by South West (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, the industry gathering of the global technology world. “Due to the war in Ukraine, there were some changes,” Webb explains in an interview with Handelsblatt. Priorities have shifted, some trends have been strengthened. Here are their top eight predictions:
1. Cyber weapons are becoming increasingly important
For years, militaries from all countries have relied not only on having better soldiers and tanks, but also on being prepared for a war on the Internet. The Russian invasion of Ukraine reinforces this development. It’s about better protecting your own infrastructure. At the same time, countries are developing new weapons for targeted attacks. In the USA, the connection between digital and physical weapons is merging.
