Berlin Even after almost two years of pandemic, doctors are still puzzling why people react so differently to infections with Sars-CoV-2. While many do not notice the infection at all, i.e. remain asymptomatic or at best develop a slight scratchy throat and runny nose, others complain of severe coughing to life-threatening shortness of breath, which is necessary for admission to the intensive care unit, for artificial ventilation and then in almost half the cases can also lead to death.
