Berlin The former Supreme Commander of the US Land Forces in Europe, Lieutenant General Ret. D. Ben Hodges expects a clear accession perspective for Ukraine from the NATO summit in Vilnius.
In the interview, he also expresses his disappointment that the US government is still not providing the Ukrainian armed forces with precision ATACMS (Army Tactical Missile System) missiles or fighter jets.

The upcoming NATO summit is the second under the influence of the Ukraine war. What signal does Vilnius need to send out?
We need three signals: first, that the NATO members – despite individual differences – stand together unshakably. Secondly, the clear commitment that they will continue to expand their defense capability. And thirdly, there must be an unmistakable signal to Ukraine for NATO membership. Anything but a concrete path to get there would be a victory for the Kremlin.
