Over 300 of the Bayraktar TB2 UAVs and SİHAs, which made their first flight and entered service in 2014, have been produced in the past 8 years. It is stated that 96 of these were exported to 20 countries, but not all of them were disclosed. So we have over 200 TB2s in our inventory.
In addition, Baykar completed the prototype tests of Bayraktar AKINCI and delivered it within the last year. In fact, videos were published showing that they were used together with TB2s in the operations in the North of Iraq.
TUSAŞ, another top quality UAV-SİHA manufacturing company, continues to deliver ANKA and AKSUNGURs. Of course, although the exact number has not been shared, we can say that the TAF has at least 30 ANKAs, and the number of AKSUNGUR and its variants is increasing day by day.
In addition, TAI has announced that it has developed Turkey’s first supersonic UAV. This aircraft, which has a speed of 1 Mach, a wingspan of 80 cm and a length of 270 cm, can be launched from SİHA platforms such as AKINCI and AKSUNGUR.
Considering all these, we can say that Turkey has become the largest military drone industry in Europe and one of the top 3 in the world. Others include the United States, Israel and China. However, let us state that the TB2s are unrivaled all over the world in terms of price/performance and proving themselves in battle.
