Your notes may appear in Google search results
In theory, this new Google feature will make results more helpful and allow people to better find information that’s relevant to them by providing a bit of a human perspective, like feedback on recipe links or tips on travel queries. Notes are now available as an optional feature in Google Search Labs.
For those who don’t know, Search Labs is where Google tests new features that may or may not eventually make it to its flagship search engine. For those signed up for the Notes trial, a Notes option will appear in Search & Explore, and tapping it will reveal all the information other people have shared about a particular article.
You can also add your own note to all those notes added by other users and decorate it with stickers, photos, and (for US users only) AI-generated images.

While community-sourced notes may seem like a recipe for disaster in an age of widespread misinformation and trolling, especially when AI imagery is involved, Google says it will use “a combination of algorithmic protection and human moderation to ensure the notes are as they should be.”
The company promises to do its best to make it as safe, useful and relevant as possible, and to protect against harmful or malicious content. Google is also looking at ways to allow site owners to annotate their own pages.
This is still just a test, and users will have the opportunity to submit feedback based on their experiences with Notes. This experimental feature is now rolling out for Search Labs on Android and iOS in the US and India.
