What will be the future of domestic technology and 5G?

Koç touched upon Turkcell’s transition schedule to 5G technology and the innovations that the technology will bring. Dr. Ali Taha Koç stated that Turkey’s transition to 5G technology will take place in 2026 and in this process, it will switch to 5.5G technology, which is a more advanced version of 4.5G technology.

He pointed out that this technology will revolutionize remote operations and automation systems, especially by offering high data speeds and significantly low latency.

Stating that Turkey attaches great importance to domestic technology production, Turkcell CEO stated that intense efforts are being made to increase the rate of localization in domestic base stations, radio link systems and other network equipment, especially to be used in 4.5G and 5G technologies.

He emphasized that domestic production efforts are carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport and the Information Technologies and Communication Authority, and thus, it is aimed to raise Turkey to the position of technology exporter.

Among the innovative technologies exhibited during the event, there were also robot dogs that attracted the attention of visitors. These robots attracted attention especially with their interactive features and their ability to adapt to the environment. Additionally, special sessions were held for young entrepreneurs and startups at the event. These sessions stood out as platforms where new business ideas and projects were presented, guided by experienced mentors.
