Berlin The German economy is pushing for the rapid implementation of the 200 billion euro relief package for companies and consumers battered by high energy prices. A commission of experts, which also includes the President of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), Peter Adrian, is expected to make proposals by mid-October on what the planned gas price brake should look like in concrete terms.

“In order for companies to have planning security in a timely manner, it is important that politicians then implement appropriate measures quickly,” said Deputy DIHK General Manager Achim Dercks to the Handelsblatt. However, one sees a great deal of political will and therefore no need for additional short-term bridging aid. “It is much more important that simple and unbureaucratic solutions are found now,” says Dercks.
