Berlin Entrepreneur Harald Christ is calling on German business to get more involved in the socio-political debate about the rise of the AfD. “Right now we need bosses who stand in front of their employees and take a stand against intolerance and right-wing extremism,” said Christ, owner of the consulting firm Christ&Company.
Germany lives from exports, from global economic integration. “We can’t revert back to the economic Middle Ages at home with ethnic and national ideas,” said Christ. Innovation succeeds even better with diversity. “Our business model is based on tolerance and cosmopolitanism. The AfD costs us prosperity,” warned Christ.
The former federal treasurer of the FDP would like as many business leaders as possible to become aware of their responsibility and get involved in this central socio-political debate. “Not with comments softened by press offices, but with plain text,” demanded Christ.
