The presidential election was completed and 12th President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan took the seat once again. Now all eyes are on the promises made. At the beginning of these is the tax deduction, which is said to be offered to students only once.
So when will this right that will be offered to students come? After the cabinet meeting held in the past days, it was said that many issues, including the right to tax-free technological products to be offered to students from the civil servant increase, will be discussed in July. Therefore, we can say that it will be presented at the end of July at the earliest, probably in August and September, that is, before the schools open.

How much will the tax-deductible phone and computer prices be?
First of all, let’s talk about laptop, notebook, or laptop computer. 18% VAT is charged on these devices. Therefore, a device worth 10 thousand TL can be purchased for 8 thousand 200 TL with tax exemption, and a 40 thousand TL device for 32 thousand 800 TL.
But on smartphones, these scissors open up well. Because, 1% of the Ministry of Culture’s share and then 12% of the TRT banderole fee are added to the price of arrival in Turkey. Afterwards, 18 percent VAT is taken from the amount including 50 percent SCT and SCT.
As a result, a tax that exceeds the price of the phone at a rate of 100.2 percent is levied. For this reason, we can roughly say that phone prices will decrease by half with tax exemption. This means that the device worth roughly 30 thousand TL will have a label of 14 thousand 999 TL for students.
