According to the authorities, traffic on the bridge that connects Russia with the annexed peninsula of Crimea was temporarily stopped on Saturday. “Those on the bridge and in the inspection area are asked to keep calm and follow the instructions of traffic safety officers,” said a message on an official Telegram channel. A reason for the blocking of traffic was not given. Explosions damaged the bridge on Monday, killing two civilians. Russia accused Ukraine of attacking the bridge. Ukraine welcomed the alleged attack but did not claim it as its own. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has described the bridge as a legitimate military target, as it would supply supplies to the invading Russian forces. The bridge was recently restored to full service after being severely damaged in an October attack.
