Saving screenshots from video is coming to Chrome!

Google has launched a new feature for the Chrome browser in Canary. Accordingly, it will be easier to save screenshots from videos played on Chrome. As you know, you need plug-ins or different applications to save screenshots on videos via Chrome. It is obvious that these applications do not always produce high-quality results. However, Canary comes with the feature of saving screenshots from video in png format.

When will Chrome come with the feature to save high-quality screenshots from video?

We’re not talking about a screenshot or copy feature here. Chrome already has the screenshot copy feature. The feature we see here literally has a function like recording a screenshot from a video. Especially with this, there will be no need for plug-ins to get high-quality photos from videos.

Currently, the feature is available in Google Chrome Canary 116 (122.0.6194.0). Accordingly, in order to take a high-quality screenshot from the video, you must first stop the video at the place where you will take the image. Even if you don’t actually stop, thanks to this new feature, you can save photos from the instant video. But if there is a scene you want to capture, it would be better to stop the video there.

When you right-click on the video, the “Save video frame as” option appears. Thus, you do not need to use different extensions to take high-quality screenshots. As we mentioned before, this frame is saved to your computer in high quality, that is, png format.

Google Play Store will soon let you remotely uninstall apps from connected devices. We explained how you can use it.

Chrome is currently by far the most used browser in the world. Although it is not clear when the feature will arrive, let us remind you that it is not in the beta phase. In other words, the feature of saving high-resolution photos from video may come into play with the next Chrome update.

Thanks to Chrome’s feature of saving screenshots from videos, you will be able to take much higher quality photos from videos. As you know, PNG contains more data than JPEG, which means it undergoes less compression. In this sense, there is a huge difference in quality compared to the screenshot copying feature. Do you think this Chrome feature can really be useful to us? We are waiting your comments.
