Berlin Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has actually traveled to Germany. In Berlin he first met Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, and a little later the presentation of the renowned Charlemagne Prize followed in Aachen. It is Selenski’s first visit to Germany since Russia invaded his country in February last year. It comes at a time when the “turning point” announced by Scholz is actually taking hold.
Military aid worth 2.7 billion euros
Germany has developed into a key partner of Ukraine. The federal government decided on additional military aid of 2.7 billion euros for the Selenski visit, doubling the previously promised financial aid.
