Public Saving Move by Minister Şimşek!

Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek signed a circular in order to save money on the expenditures of public institutions and organizations before going to India for the G20 meeting. The circular was sent to all public institutions and took effect today.

The circular, titled “Savings Measures” in the Presidential Circular, aims to use public resources effectively, economically and efficiently. Along with the circular, public institutions and organizations were instructed to comply with the measures determined in the expenditures they will make from their own budgets or other resources at their disposal.

The basic principle emphasized in the circular was that public services should be kept within the budget limits and maximum savings should be achieved. In addition, issues such as not creating additional burdens for business expansion and business growth, avoiding elements in expenditures that are not directly related to the relevant fields of activity, benefiting from economies of scale and expanding joint purchasing were also emphasized.

“Additional savings required”

In the circular signed by Minister Şimşek, it was also stated that additional savings measures should be taken from public institutions. In this context, public institutions and organizations will realize their expenditures such as real estate acquisition and rental, official vehicle acquisition and use, communication expenses, personnel assignments, press and publication expenses, stationery and fixture purchases in accordance with the rules of savings.

In addition, it was emphasized that the rules determined in the circular should be followed in terms of representation, ceremony, hospitality, promotion and personnel expenses, energy and water purchases, expenses related to personnel service service and other issues.

Public administrations will be obliged to inform the Ministry of Treasury and Finance in an official letter until 28 July of the savings they have achieved through the works and transactions they have carried out on the issues regulated in the circular.
