One-two comeback: Rudi Brückner has done that for the last 17 years – football

It’s the TV comeback of this ongoing football season!

Rudi Brückner (66) will host the soccer talk “Doppelpass” at “Sport1” again this Sunday. He is a man of the first hour, moderated the talk show from 1995 to 2004 from the first broadcast. Now the comeback after 17 years, because the current moderator Florian König is absent on Sunday due to illness.

But what has Brückner, who developed the talk show at the time, done in the past 17 years? Brückner has been a media coach since 2004. Among other things, he taught at the Bonn Academy for Management Communication and Speech Writing as a lecturer for moderation and media training. He also advised various sponsorship, PR and event agencies.

But the former DSF editor-in-chief was also present in front of the camera: from 2005-06 he moderated the live football talk “Dropkick” on “Eurosport”, which he produced himself. Among other things with special editions for the Confederations Cup 2005 and the Soccer World Cup 2006.

In 2009 he led the show “Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7” on the Austrian broadcaster “ServusTV”.

Since 2013 Brückner has been working again for the Doppelpass broadcaster. First as a moderator at “Sport1.FM” (2013-2017), a former private radio broadcaster of Sport1-Medien, later as host of the soccer talk “Fantalk” (from 2016).

So now the comeback in the “double pass”: Among other things, his guest: BVB managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke. With him, Brückner will discuss, among other things, the start of the season in Dortmund, the new coach Marco Rose, star striker Erling Haaland and the top game at Rose’s ex-club Borussia Mönchengladbach. The panel discussion at the Hilton Munich Airport Hotel also includes ex-kicker and expert Stefan Effenberg as well as Peter Müller (Funke Mediengruppe), Ralph Durry (sid) and Alexander Schlueter (DAZN).

It is still unclear whether the Brückner moderation will remain a one-time thing, as it is not known how long Florian König will be out. The popular TV presenter (including Formula 1 on RTL) had already complained about being unwell after the broadcast last Sunday. The doctors prescribed bed rest and a TV break. One thing is certain: He does not have Covid 19.
