Car sales in Turkey started 2022 unpleasantly
Automotive Distributors Association, in its report published a short time ago, revealed the January 2022 data of the automobile and light commercial vehicle market in our country. Accordingly, there was a decrease of 12.8 percent in January compared to January of the previous year. Last month, 38 thousand 131 sales were made in Turkey.
In January 2022, the automobile market decreased by 17.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and became 29 thousand 020, while the light commercial market experienced an increase of 8.9 percent and reached 9 thousand 111 units. Considering the 10-year January data in the automobile and light commercial vehicle market, there was an increase of 18.8 percent.
While the automobile market showed an increase of 21 percent compared to the average January sales of 10 years, the light commercial market experienced an increase of 12.4 percent in this period. 91.7 percent of January 2022 automobile sales were made up of vehicles in the A, B and C segments with lower tax rates.
SUV was the best-selling vehicle type last month, with a rate of 42.3 percent. Sedans followed with 37.8 percent and hatchbacks with 18.7 percent.
