After reports about an alleged suspicion of espionage against officials in the Federal Ministry of Economics there is uncertainty there.

Berlin It’s September 5th, a sunny day in Berlin’s government district. At the summer party of the Federal Ministry of Economics, department head Robert Habeck, as so often, praises the hard work and long overtime of his employees. No hand fits between him and his subordinates, that’s the minister’s message.
Not even the controversial media reports about the house in the days before changed anything about that, explains Habeck. There was talk of an alleged suspicion of espionage within the ministry and of possible Russian infiltration.
But the mood within the ministerial apparatus is different from what Habeck wants to convey. Four days before the summer festival, a group of ministry officials meet for an emergency meeting in response to the allegations. The internal minutes of this meeting, which is available to the Handelsblatt, paint a picture of uncertainty, doubts about the minister’s integrity and damage to cooperation with the top management.
