New 5 TL Banknotes Entered Circulation! Here’s the Changed Signature

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey announced that the new 6th order 5 TL banknotes entered circulation today. The new banknotes will bear the signature of current Vice President Taha Çakmak.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, with the statement it shared today that the new 5 Turkish Lira banknotes are in circulation announced. “E9 Emission Group VI. The 6th order banknotes, which will replace the 5th order 5 TL banknotes, will be distinguished from each other by the signatures they carry. The 5th issue banknotes, which went into circulation on September 29, 2021, had the signatures of Central Bank President Şahap Kavcıoğlu and then Vice President Uğur Namık Küçük. latest banknotes, current vice president Taha Cakmak’s signature will carry.

Central Bank’s statement:

“Based on the authorization given to our Bank by the Law No. 1211, E9 Emission Group VI. series 5 TL banknotes will be put into circulation as of 28 March 2022. E9 Emission Group I., II., III., IV. and V. series 5 still in circulation. Compared to the TL banknotes, the signatures on the 5 TL banknotes of the VIth order were rearranged to belong to the Vice President Taha Çakmak together with the Chairman Prof. Dr. Şahap Kavcıoğlu.

The new 6th order 5 TL banknotes, apart from the signatures on them, come in I., II., III., IV. exactly the same. I., II., III., IV., V. and VI. All banknotes will be circulated together.

Uğur Namık Küçük was dismissed:

Former Central Bank Vice President Uğur Namık Küçük, with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan He was sacked on 14 October 2021. Taha Çakmak was appointed to replace Küçük. Küçük took office on 14 August 2018.
