Moderna anticipates omicron booster in August – incidence drops to 1385.1

The delivery of a BioNTech’s omicron vaccine will um postpone a few weeks. At “Bild Live”, company founder Ugur Sahin says the date will be April or May. The vaccine was originally announced for the end of March.

Sahin cited the European Medicines Agency (EMA) as the reason for the delay, which had to wait longer than planned for the data required for approval. Whether an Omicron vaccine is still worthwhile at all still has to be investigated. “We have to look at the vaccine epidemiology. If the wave stops, that doesn’t mean it can’t start again,” says Sahin.

The BioNTech founder does not expect the corona virus to end in the next five to ten years: “We never expected to get rid of the corona virus,” said Sahin. “But from our point of view it will no longer be this big drama.” You can adjust to that now. If necessary, BioNTech can also produce new variant vaccines. “I really don’t see the situation as dramatic anymore.”
