In luxury vehicle imports made through parallel imports (grey market), investigations and investigations carried out by our Ministry of Commerce continue against companies that make transactions with false documents and without partial or full payment of customs duties in order to gain an unfair commercial advantage in the market.
In this context, in the examinations carried out by the inspectors of our Ministry of Commerce, in the imports of various brands / models of luxury vehicles carried out by companies; It has been determined that 358 luxury vehicles were smuggled into our country using low value/fake/double invoices and fake A.TR Movement Documents. In this regard, a criminal complaint was filed to the Public Prosecutor’s Office against the companies and individuals who carried out the transactions and actions mentioned in the investigation reports, and the vehicles were requested to be seized and confiscated. In addition, approximately 530 million TL of public losses resulting from these transactions were collected from the relevant companies.
Our Ministry continues its surveillance and inspection activities in order to reveal all aspects of violations in luxury car imports, to prevent irregularities and actions that create unfair competition, and will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the rights of public finance and to carry out transactions in accordance with customs legislation.
