“This is the worst state he’s ever been in,” says the friend.

Since separating from his fiancée, the 52-year-old has mostly been sitting around at home, smoking cigarettes by the chain and only eating fast food, according to the insider. “Matthew was always his own worst enemy,” says his friend.

The Hollywood star never kept a secret about his addiction. At times he was so bad that he stepped away completely on the “Friends” set. “I was standing next to me somewhere between seasons three and six,” Perry revealed in the BBC interview. He could not remember that time to this day.
