With the law that will come into effect from the end of 2024, USB Type-C connection becomes mandatory for Apple’s iPhone models. After the new decision, Apple, which is expected to offer iPhone 15 models with Type-C connection, will have to change its accessories accordingly.
Apple begins production of Type-C connected headphones
Recent reports prove this. According to the information received, Apple is working on USB Type-C wired headphones as an alternative to wireless AirPods headphones. It is stated that the company has started agreements with different companies for the production of new headphones under the ‘Made for iPhone’ (MFi) program.
ShrimpApplePro, which stands out with its previous accurate leaks, announced that Apple continues to work for new accessories, including EarPods with USB-C connection. According to the leak, USB-C MFi cables and a new EarPods models are in mass production.
Although wireless headphones have been very popular lately, wired headphones are still preferred by many users. Wired headphones are not only more affordable but also useful because they don’t need to be charged.
On the other hand, although Apple is switching to USB Type-C connection with new iPhone models, Lightning will still form its infrastructure. For the iPhone 15 models, which are stated to continue to use the Lightning infrastructure, a significant increase in charging and efficiency transfer speed is not expected. It is stated that Apple can only fully adopt the Type-C connection with the iPhone 16 models.
