Berlin Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) is preparing a comprehensive reform of corporate taxes. Experts in the Federal Ministry of Finance are currently developing various measures for the draft with the provisional title “Competition Strengthening Act”, the Handelsblatt learned from government circles. It is about a significant relief for the economy.

An important component should therefore be an investment premium. The state should provide tax incentives for companies that invest in energy efficiency and climate protection. The SPD, Greens and FDP have agreed on such an instrument in the coalition agreement under the slogan “super write-off”.

However, there are indications that technically there will be no depreciation where a company can deduct expenses from profits. Instead, experts are now leaning towards a tax premium. This would ensure that companies that are making losses can also receive support.
