ITU Robot Olympics 2022 will take place on 24-25-26 March!

ITU Robot Olympics, Turkey’s most rooted robot Olympiad, which will be held for the fourteenth time by ITU Control and Automation Club on 24-25-26 March 2022 at ITU Ayazaga Campus Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, is starting.

Within the scope of the event, seminars, talks, panels and exhibitions are organized by local and foreign academicians, industry participants and experienced students. These events, which are held simultaneously with the competitions, guide the participants who are working in this field and expand the perspectives of the participants.

ITU Robot Olympics starts 2022

Spot, the robot dog of the world-famous Boston Dynamics company, will meet with visitors at ITURO 2022 on Thursday, March 24, between 12.30-18.30 in the afternoon.

Seminars

  • Dr. Hope Yıldız- Science in Deep Space

Umut Yıldız, a popular science writer and speaker, holds a PhD in Astrochemistry, Molecular Astrophysics at Leiden University Observatory, Netherlands, and currently works as a researcher in deep space communications and astrophysics at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). ‘ at ITURO 2022 with its seminar!

  • prof. Dr. Aytül Erçil- Entrepreneurship and Technology

Prof. dr. Aytül Erçil received her bachelor’s degree from Boğaziçi University Electrical Engineering and Mathematics Departments, and her master’s and doctorate degrees from Brown University’s Applied Mathematics Department. After working at General Motors Research Laboratory for 5 years, she was the founding director of the BUPAM Machine Vision Laboratory at Boğaziçi University for 13 years, a faculty member at Sabancı University for 13 years, and one of Turkey’s strong businesswomen, Aytül Erçil, who was the founding director of the VPALAB Machine Vision Laboratory at ITURO 2022!

Prior to his career, he was a Research Assistant at Harvard, a Research Scientist at MIT, and a Senior Member of Technical Staff at NASA, and is currently working in Koç University Robotics and Mechatronics laboratory. Dr. Çağatay Başdoğan at ITURO 2022!

  • Cosmonaut Muhammed Faris-Experiences of a Cosmonaut

He graduated from Aleppo Air Force Academy in 1973. He served as a pilot in the Syrian Air Force with the rank of colonel. He was selected to participate in the Interkosmos spaceflight program on September 30, 1985. Participated in navigation programs. On July 22, 1987, he went to space as a Cosmonaut on the Mir space station with the Soyuz TM-3 Research vehicle and stayed in space for 7 days, 23 hours and 5 minutes. He returned to Earth aboard the Soyuz TM-2. On July 30, 1987, he was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and was awarded the Order of Lenin. Cosmonaut Muhammed Faris is at ITURO 2022 to talk about his space experiences!

Metaverse panel

Metaverse, one of the most popular topics of today, will be discussed in the panel to be held by experts in their fields at ITURO 2022. SEM Chairman of the Board Ali Yılmaz and Meta Fund LLC founding partner Tolga Yücel will take place as speakers at the panel. The panel will be moderated by Lawyer Burçak Ünsal.

51.000 TL in three categories, 81.000 TL in total!

In the ITU Robot Olympics 2022, in the Fanuc Drone Category where Autonomous UAVs compete, the ROBO Scenario based on the communication of two different robots and the Traffic category with Autonomous driving task will be awarded 10,000 TL for the 1st place, 5,000 TL for the second place, and 2,000 TL for the third place. . In the categories of Climbing the Stairs, Following the Lines Football, Micro Sumo, Choosing Color and Construction, the winners will receive 4,000 TL, the 2nd place 1,500 TL and the 3rd place a gift voucher.
