Hyundai adds fake engine sound to its electric cars!

As the automotive industry increasingly shifts towards electric cars, engine noise and the excitement of gear shifting are at risk of being lost. However Hyundai, wants to maintain this excitement in its latest electric model. The special edition Hyundai Ioniq 5 N will have a “fake” engine sound and gear shift feel.

Hyundai will simulate gear shifts with the Ioniq 5 N

Hyundai to Ioniq 5 N added an interesting feature. He put 10 loudspeakers inside and outside the car to mimic the noise of the gasoline engine and exhaust. This feature, called N Active Sound+, brings gasoline engine sound to the electric car.

In addition to the classic internal combustion engine sound, there will be other options. According to Hyundai’s statement, fun engine sound options will be available for drivers, including the “Supersonic” theme inspired by warplanes.

Toyota will put ‘fake clutch’ on electric cars! Here’s why

Toyota will add a fake clutch feature to its electric car models. This will allow drivers to experience manual transmission.

Apart from the engine sound, the gear shifts of a gas-powered car will also be simulated. Unlike electric vehicles with a single-speed gearbox, the Ioniq 5 N will feature a configuration that mimics the feeling of shifting as the vehicle accelerates.

It should be noted that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is also impressive with its performance figures in general. With N Grin Boost activated, it produces 478 kW / 650 PS. The car, which can turn 21,000 revolutions, also hosts an advanced thermal management system with battery, engine oil and battery cooler.

A similar move had been made by Toyota before. According to a patent filed last month, Toyota will feel like a “fake clutch”. This will appeal to drivers who like to drive manual transmission cars.
