Hürjet has successfully completed its first flight test!

In the last few months, we have been receiving good news in the field of defense industry one after another. First, the National Combat Aircraft (MMU-TF-X), the fifth generation jet fighter, came out of the hangar, started the engine and taxied. Then, in a sense, its predecessor, the jet training and close air support aircraft Hürjet, came out of the hangar to the runway and taxied. Today, Hürjet carried out its first flight test. Hürjet has successfully completed its first flight test!

Turkey has the largest and strongest army in its region. However, this situation causes their needs to be equally large. Moreover, its removal from programs such as the F-35 it was involved in and its exposure to various embargoes increased the burden on domestic defense industry companies.

Rapid steps are being taken one after the other for the National Combat Aircraft (MMU), the fifth generation jet fighter, or Hürjet, which is the predecessor of the TF-X as it is known abroad. The main reason for this high movement capacity is that TAI has been working on jets such as the F-16 for many years.

Hürjet, whose assembly phase was completed in a very short time, left the hangar and started the engine and then completed the taxi tests, carried out its first flight test with the F-16 today.
