Dusseldorf Winter is approaching – and with temperatures below freezing, the effects of the energy crisis are likely to finally reach the bedrooms and bathrooms of many Germans. In order to protect private households from the cold, but also to alleviate the economic hardship of many companies, the federal government wants to cushion the costs of high energy prices with emergency aid for the month of December. One-time payment in December: Who gets the emergency aid?

All consumers who heat their apartments and houses with natural gas in winter and companies that consume no more than 1.5 million kilowatt hours of natural gas a year can also take advantage of the emergency aid in December.

Facilities such as day-care centers for children, workshops for people with disabilities and “medical rehabilitation facilities” are also covered by the Emergency Aid Act, even if they consume more than 1.5 million kilowatt hours of natural gas a year.
