65.2 billion GB of internet was used in Turkey in 2022!
In a statement made by Karaismailoğlu, it was stated that more than 319 billion minutes were spoken on the phone in 2022 in Turkey. He also said that 65 billion 256 million Gigabytes of internet were used in the whole of 2022.
According to the Turkish Electronic Communications Industry Quarterly Market Data Report for the fourth quarter of 2022, the sales revenues of the operators operating in the sector reached 130 billion TL with an increase of 40.7 compared to the previous year. He also said that the investments of all operators in the sector increased by 42.7 percent compared to the previous year and exceeded 31 billion TL.

Underlining that the number of mobile subscribers reached 90.3 million by the end of 2022, Karaismailoğlu said:
“Mobile subscriber prevalence was 105.9 percent. 82.9 million of mobile subscribers preferred the 4.5G subscription, which started service in 2016. 4.5G service accounted for 91.8 percent of total subscribers. The number of M2M subscribers reached 8.1 million, showing an annual growth of 8.7 percent. As of the end of 2022, the total number of mobile numbers ported exceeded 167.2 million. The number of mobile numbers ported in 2022 approached 9.6 million.”
The number of fiber internet subscribers increased to 5.7 million!
It was announced that the total number of broadband internet subscribers, 71.7 million of which was mobile, increased by 2.5 million in a year and reached 90.6 million. In addition, it was said that fiber infrastructure reached 517.3 thousand kilometers with an increase of 9.8 percent and the number of fiber internet subscribers increased to 5.7 million with an increase of 17.8 percent. In other words, nearly 50 thousand km of new fiber optic cables were laid.
In addition, it was said that while the average monthly data usage of fixed broadband subscribers was 204 GByte in the last quarter of 2021, this figure increased to 243 Gigabytes in the last quarter of 2022. .
It was announced that 65 billion 256 million Gigabytes of internet were used in the whole of 2022. This means that 776 Gigabytes per year and 64 Gigabytes per month are spent on an average per capita basis. Finally, it was stated that 98.5 percent of the total 319.6 billion minutes of traffic was started from mobile networks and the average monthly usage time in mobile networks was 549 minutes as of the last quarter of the year.
