Technology companies and telecom operators, including Google, have made a new application to European Union regulators. It was stated that the iMessage service should be defined as a “core service” within the scope of the new regulations.
Google, Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Telefónica and Orange sent a petition to the European Commission. In this article, the companies argued that iMessage meets the criteria to be considered a core platform service as defined in the Digital Markets Act (DMA).
