Google Pay is Closing: Date Announced

Google announced that it will pull the plug on Google Pay, which it launched in 2018.

Use of Google Pay, Google’s payment service, is limited to users in the United States. Starting from June 4, 2024 will end. Users will continue to use the features they benefit from with the Google Pay service with Google Wallet.

The reason for sending Google Pay to the application graveyard is that Google Wallet is a much more used application and all services are wanted to be gathered under one roof.

Google Wallet is used five times more

According to Google, Google Wallet is used five times more than Google Pay. It includes many features such as driver’s license, ID and payment options. It is said that Google Wallet combining with Google Pay and serving as a single application will improve the user experience.

In fact, when Google Pay was launched years ago, the aim was to bring together Android Pay and Google Wallet applications, but even though Android Pay disappeared, this merger was not fully realized. Years later, Google Pay was discontinued…
