Twitter users can now have a blue tick for 110 TL in Turkey and 8 dollars per month worldwide. After this development, Twitter is now divided into two groups. The social media platform now has truly verified accounts, as well as people who get blue ticks as Twitter Blue subscribers.
Sometimes it can be quite difficult to tell the difference between these users. It should not be forgotten that there are many people on Twitter who will abuse this situation with fake accounts. A Twitter user has revealed a browser extension to reveal whether the accounts are actually verified.
This extension, called Eight Dollars, simply tells its user whether an account has actually been verified by Twitter. To understand this difference without the extension, you have to go to the user’s profile and click on the checkmark. This browser extension reflects this information directly to users.
This extension, which eliminates the confusion on Twitter, was developed only for Google Chrome in the first place. However, Walter Lim, who revealed the program, states that the extension will also work in Firefox and Microsoft Edge. In addition, it was announced that the extension will be available for Safari in the near future.
Currently available only on GitHub, this plugin needs to be manually installed using the browser’s developer mode. So installing the extension can be a bit confusing. It is also worth remembering that there is no official approval of the application.
