Dusseldorf Investor criticism was loud and clear – and it had an impact. After Teamviewer left the sponsorship of the top English club Manchester United, investors bought shares in the German software provider on a large scale on Friday.
The stocks listed in the MDax small-cap index rose by up to eleven percent to EUR 13.40, the highest level in six months. In the afternoon the increase was still 4.2 percent.
Teamviewer announced late Thursday evening that it had negotiated an exit from the expensive sponsorship contract with the Premier League club. Accordingly, the club buys back the rights to the main shirt sponsorship. Another company should move up as soon as possible.
