Brussels Politicians and experts speak of the biggest corruption scandal in the history of the European Parliament: After the arrest warrants against four suspects on Sunday, the political processing of the “Qatar Gate” began on Monday.

Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (The Greens) said before a meeting of foreign ministers in Brussels that the “credibility of the EU” was at stake. The parliamentarians wanted to discuss the events in Strasbourg in the afternoon. In interviews, individual members of parliament were appalled and called for a committee of inquiry and tightening of lobbying rules.
