Drones Will Soon Control Power Plants

A group of engineers are developing drone software that will revolutionize the energy maintenance industry. If it does, huge power plants will be easily controlled by drones without costing a lot of labor and money.

In March, a group of engineers met in a green field in rural Nottinghamshire, England. Engineers conduct electricity across the country which they hope may be responsible for the maintenance of high-voltage poles they tested a drone pilot software.

If the engineers’ software works, a drone can inspect a high utility pole from a few meters away, as well as unmanned. In other words, in the future, it will be possible to understand where there are problems with huge electricity poles with just a drone.

If the project is realized, people will no longer need to work in hazardous energy facilities.

Seconds after engineers began testing in March, the drone was able to document the condition of the electric pole’s steel arms, fittings and conductors. took 65 photos. Just six minutes later, the drone returned to the ground with applause. By the time it landed, he had already sent the photos to be analyzed for corrosion by an AI-powered system.

John McKenna, founder of Sees.ai, the company behind drone testing, said:What we did was send the drone a super simple instruction like ‘Go to that pole’. The drone uses its artificial intelligence to figure out where the lamppost is, where the parts of the pole are” says. Thanks to this drone software, the engineering team aims to save millions of dollars in maintenance work.

If this drone software becomes active one day, both in huge power plants people will be protected from life-threatening dangers both the workforce will be transferred to more useful places and the budget allocated to the workforce will increase.

However, the elephant in the room should not be ignored, this is the science-fiction subject of years with drone software.Robots will take over our jobs Such a cliché is likely to emerge. The question is how people will view this issue. What are you thinking? Please do not forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments.
