During the meeting, President Erdogan made an invitation to Elon Musk to attend the technology and aviation event Teknofest, which will be held at Izmir Çiğli Airport between 27 September and 1 October. In the statement made by the Directorate of Communications, Erdoğan shared his views on Turkey’s achievements in the field of technology, underlining initiatives such as the Digital Turkey Vision and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. President Erdoğan also discussed potential areas of cooperation with SpaceX within the scope of Turkey’s ambitious space program.
Erdogan also reminded Musk of Tesla’s presence in the Turkish market through its collaboration with Turkey’s Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG). He urged Musk to consider establishing Tesla’s seventh factory in Turkey, in addition to its existing six giant factories worldwide. Tesla’s factory, established in Fremont, California, in 2010, has become a major center for the production of various Tesla models, including the Model S, 3, X and Y. With over 17,000 employees, it stands as a testament to Tesla’s growth and commitment to innovation.
Musk is well known in Turkey
