Frankfurt Jens Ehrhardt has been working in the financial business for half a century. With this long stock exchange experience, the 80-year-old looks at the nervous stock markets in the shadow of the Ukraine war. Some time ago, the well-known stock market strategist thought a Dax level of 17,000 points was possible. But this optimism has evaporated for the time being.

The well-known investor is preparing for a recession. This could be exacerbated in Germany and Europe by a gas supply stop from Russia. Under this condition, the founder of asset management DJE Kapital sees the Dax collapse to 10,000 points. “We are facing very difficult times in Germany,” he says.

The professional, who is one of the best-known stock market strategists in Germany, considers the interest rate policy of the US Federal Reserve to be a mistake. He criticizes that the Fed reacted much too late and then too violently to the rise in inflation. She is doing “perhaps the biggest political mistake in the post-war period”.
