Dax ends impetusless trading just in the black

The leading German index is on a downward trend this year – despite the recent recovery.

Frankfurt Investors on the German stock market held back noticeably on Friday. In an impetusless trade, the Dax remained just above the previous day’s mark from midday. Ultimately, the leading index went 0.2 percent higher at 14,446 points from trading.

The entire trading range was relatively small at around 100 points. The trading volume was also far below the average of the past few weeks, at around 52 million shares traded.

Wall Street also gave no impetus in the afternoon. The most important indices also fluctuated there near the level of the previous day. Robust labor market data had previously strengthened speculation about an even faster turnaround in interest rates in the USA.
