Dax course currently: Dax records new losses

Dusseldorf The Dax surprisingly starts a recovery attempt on Monday: After the leading index had reached its low for the day at 12,607 points around noon, it then increasingly limited its losses. Shortly after the US stock exchanges opened, the Frankfurt benchmark turned positive and was up 0.2 percent at 12,760 points.

In the past trading week, the Frankfurt benchmark fell by 2.7 percent overall, on Friday it ended trading 1.7 percent lower.

The trigger for the price slide was the latest inflation data from the USA: At 8.3 percent, inflation in August was above analysts’ expectations.

For this reason, investors are focusing on the US Federal Reserve (Fed): At their meeting on Wednesday, the monetary authorities will decide on their future monetary policy course. Investors fear that to fight inflation, they will raise interest rates so much that they will stall the economy.
